Pet Peeve #3

People who wear flip flops, sandals, or other such backless shoes that are obviously too small for them! People... Your heels are not supposed to hang off the back or your shoes! And they most certainly are never supposed to touch the ground when you walk! Why this bothers me so much, I don't know, but it seems like a fairly intuitive thing to me.

101 Things I Love About Chris

I'm not actually going to list them all here... Some people might get annoyed at having to scroll through all of them :-P

There are actually more than 101 reasons, but some of them aren't necessarily appropriate for this kind of blog O:-)

This is actually the second list I've put together for him... I think I should make it a tradition... Maybe a 101 list once a year or something... I promise I didn't cheat and look at the old 101 either :)

Anyways, for those of you reading who are as nosey as I am, I'd be more than happy to share my 101 list with you... just CLICK HERE :) (I know that sounds kind of funny but its not a trick or a virus or anything... Just a list of 101 things I love about Chris)

Pet Peeve #2

People who don't notice or just don't care that their dogs (or cat or any animal for that matter) is flea infested, matted, obese, sick etc.

In other words... People who don't take care of their fur children properly! (Grrr... They make me sooo angry)

How can you not notice an ear infection when it smells so bad that I gagged? Just follow your nose and you'll see how dry, raw, irritated, and scabby the ears is! Come on people... Just pay attention! It's not rocket science!

Pet Peeve #1

People who don't spay/neuter their animals (who are not professional, experienced breeders)... Especially when the animal really had no business reproducing!!

Just Because...

I love this picture of Mali. She a dumbo earred, black veriberk, fancy pet rat. :)

Rori, The Movie Critic

In recent times (like this last week or so) I have seen a couple really good movies, and if you haven't seen them, you should probably watch them...

1. Finding Neverland
2. Brokeback Mountain - Exceptions: Mike and Chris need not watch this movie ;)
3. Hotel Rowanda
4. Pride and Prejudice

I have to admit though, I would've changed the ending in Finding Neverland and Brokeback Mountain if it had been up to me... In my opinion there is enough sadness in life... Movies and books need not ever have sad endings! That doesn't mean they were excellent movies as it though!

Also, I think Johnny Depp and Jake Gyllenhaal are my most favorite actors ever (or at least this week.) I can't think of anything they've been in that I've seen that I haven't liked.

If I Were Going to Have a Dog...

I may never have a dog of my own and I'm pretty okay with that. If I were going to have a dog though I'd want him/her to be a lot like this dog, Pyjamas :) Pyjamas was my uncle's dog, and is now my grandparents dog. She's a mutt from the humane society... We think shes some type of pit bull mix. She may be on the small side, but she's a little muscle bound powerhouse, and 95% of her energy is spent swimming and playing ball. She is the farthest thing from agressive when it comes to people... She loves everyone! Especially if you'll play with her :-) She's even good with children.

Unfortunately she's not the perfect dog... She has a tendencey to be animal agressive. Also, her strength gives her a tendency to challenge my grandparent's position as pack leader. She can be a handful at times because of this. (I wonder how I could get Caesar Milan down to Ft. Lauderdale to help them without having to pay? ;)

None the less, she's the cutest and sweetest dog I know. If I had a house with nice yard and no other animals, and if my grandparents couldn't keep her anymore, I probably wouldn't think twice about taking her... I'd just have to convince Chris :-P Actually, if he was going to live with a dog, Pyjamas might even be the only dog he'd consider living with. She won him over when we dog sat for my grandparents and Chris is a self proclaimed dog hater. (I know Chris... You don't want a dog... Don't worry... I'm not trying to convince you... Just saying)

...

Did you know that I work as a bather in a dog grooming salon? There's a lot of drama in the salon, much like any hair salon, but when you get passed the people drama, I really like my job. I like working with the dogs, and I'm amazed that people would entrust me with taking care of their babies... I know if I had a dog I probably wouldn't be so quick to leave him with people I don't know!

One day in the not to far distant future I'd like to become a full-fledged groomer. Eventually, once I've proved myself as a bather, my job will likely send me to grooming school to learn all the skills I'd need to become a professional groomer. Even if I decide that grooming isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life, its a useful set of skills to have, especially for someone who would really like to work with animals for the rest of their lives. Dog groomers are needed everywhere, because there are dogs everywhere :-) Most poodle, cocker spaniel, schnauzer, etc. owners don't cut their dog's hair themselves!

Everything I can learn in the grooming salon will also be useful in any other job I take in the future working with animals. I even think I might like to eventually get into to training, although I'm not sure who would want a trainer that doesn't have their own dog :-P

The last couple of days especially have been good at work... I've had mostly good dogs, and I most likely made a good enough impression on one client that they'll request me specifically everytime they bring their dog for a bath :-) I'd be more than happy to see their dog again too... He was very well behaved. I think his dad also especially felt that I'd take good care of his dog because I told him that I also had a one-eye animal at home. (I didn't get into the specifics of her being a rat, not a dog, but I don't think that really matters since I probably have to be even more careful with her because she's more likely to bite me if I smell of food) I just hope I get more good request dogs :-)

This Woman is a Genius!

Last time I told you that Caesar Milan is a genius... Well tonight I have to say that Sue Johanson is a genius too. Sue Johanson is to sexually active people what Caesar Milan is to dog owners :-) When you're done watching The Dog Whisperers on Friday nights you need to check out Talk Sex With Sue on Sunday nights on the Oxygen channel!

Rori vs. Chris

Okay, so its no really Rori vs. Chris... It's Rori's laptop vs. Chris' laptop :-P Just look at how gigantic my laptop (on the left of course ) looks compared to Chris' new laptop! I really should have included something else in the picture for reference because my laptop isn't really huge or anything... Chris' laptop is just teeny tiny!

And let me tell you, both of these laptops have plenty of features! I'm just amazed that in about a year they were able to fit all the goodies from my laptop into a laptop the size of Chris' :-P Well... Chris did pay a little bit of a premium to have a laptop so small, but for as much as he's gong to be carrying it around, it will be worth it.

This Man is a Genius!

If you haven't ever watched The Dog Whisperer you should! Cesar Milan is a genious!

Granted, I don't think you can really "fix" dogs in just a few hours, but this man really seems to understand the way the dog's mind works. He understands the pack mentality that drives dogs and that dogs are not people and shouldn't be treated like people. That's not to say you can't love on your dogs, but you have to beware of what behaviours you are condoning when you show affection to your dog! And unacceptable behaviours need to have consequences. Not abusive or mean consequences, but the dog needs to know that they aren't supposed to do that.

Anyways, I'm just very impressed my Cesar Milan and I think everyone should watch The Dog Whisper on the National Geographic channel :)

On the other hand, the more I watch his show the more I'm convinced that I don't think I ever want a dog :P I'm waaaaaaay to lazy for all that training (of myself and the dog). Luckily I can admit that I'm lazy and that at least at this point in my life I wouldn't really provide that most balanced life for a dog. Admitting that I probably won't ever have a dog doesn't make me sad though because I get to work with dogs everyday :) I don't have a shortage of furry friends in my home either with 2 cats and 4 rats to love on (who thankfully don't need so many rules, boundaries, and limitations :)

People Don't Listen!

Alright... So I'm annoyed at someone... Someone who refuses to listen to me and to admit that I know more than them about a particular subject. That might sound egotistical and bitchy, but its really not.

Its really not hard to admit when someone knows more about something than you. Why is it that some people can't deal with that? A lot of people know a lot more than me about certain things and I don't have a problem listening and learning from them... Its easy really... And this certain person knows a lot more than me about a lot of subjects and I have learned a lot from her even... But on this one subject she really knows very little. That wouldn't be such a big deal if she could just listen to what I'm telling her!

*sigh*

I guess this might not make a whole lot of sense without a detailed explanation, but I don't really feel compelled to go into all that now... I'm just frustrated... Knowing a lot more than me about a lot of things doesn't mean you know more than me about everything and does not, I repeat DOES NOT, make you any better than me. It most certainly does not give you the right to treat me like an idiot when in reality I'm right! You can't just ignore what people say when they have experience in the subject that you don't have!!

The most annoying part is that when she told me I was wrong (and I did the research and made sure that I really was right) and told me what was "right" what she said didn't even make any sense!

Some people really don't just don't listen and its so friggin annoying!

So I've Decided It's Time..

So it's time for me to make a blog... Not sure why it's time or what I'll talk about besided random ramblings from my mind, but my rats have their own blog, so why can't I have one too? :-) Acutally my rat's and cat's also have their own photo collection on Flickr too if you are interested.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the random ramblings from my mind ;)
